- Garmin Navionics+ charting with supported Quickdraw Contours capability
- CHIRP traditional and ClearVü sonar capability
- Wireless connectivity for supported ActiveCaptain functions
- Includes GT20-TM transducer
Charting and fishing
ECHOMAP UHD2 combines navigation and fishfinding in a platform aimed at recreational fishing boats. Built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping provides useful coastal and inland chart coverage, while Quickdraw Contours can create personalized fishing maps from sonar depth data.
Sonar
The cv configuration is designed for CHIRP traditional and ClearVü. Performance and maximum depth depend on the transducer, water conditions, mounting quality and bottom composition.
Connectivity
Compatible wireless functions support the ActiveCaptain app for software updates, selected chart/community features and supported user-data workflows. Model-dependent networking can also share selected sonar and user data with compatible ECHOMAP units.
Installation choice
Because the transducer is bundled, this package is a practical complete starting point for a new installation.
Garmin Navionics+ and fishing maps
Garmin Navionics+ gives ECHOMAP UHD2 owners integrated chart coverage for navigation and fishing. Quickdraw Contours can create personalized depth-contour maps from the boat’s own sonar data, which is useful on local lakes, in changing shallows and in areas where an angler wants a more detailed record of productive structure. Chart data remains an aid to navigation and should be used with appropriate official/local information.
Live sonar and transducer planning
Sonar capability depends on the exact cv/sv model and connected transducer. sv models are the better choice when SideVü is important, while cv models focus on traditional CHIRP and ClearVü. Compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 systems can also form part of a Garmin live-sonar setup with the appropriate LiveScope equipment. When buying a no-transducer version, select the sensor based on hull type, mounting method, water depth and the frequencies supported by the display.
Networking and upgrade path
ECHOMAP UHD2 occupies the middle ground between a stand-alone STRIKER fishfinder and a full GPSMAP network helm. Supported units can share selected sonar and user data and use wireless functions with ActiveCaptain. Buyers planning radar, extensive camera integration or a large multi-display vessel network should compare GPSMAP, while anglers who primarily need mapping and sonar may find ECHOMAP the more focused choice.
Installation and on-water use
Plan display location for sunlight visibility and easy key/touch access, route transducer cables away from interference sources, and mount the transducer in clean water flow. Poor transducer placement can reduce a premium sonar system to poor performance, especially at speed. Use suitable circuit protection and follow Garmin’s installation diagrams for power, NMEA 2000 and any network connections.
What’s in the Box
ECHOMAP UHD2 display, power/data cable, bail mount and hardware, protective cover where supplied, documentation, and GT20-TM transducer with installation hardware.
