The Phoenix Battery Charger is equipped with a microprocessor-controlled adaptive battery management system, which can be preset to suit different types of batteries. This adaptive feature optimizes the charging process relative to the battery’s usage, ensuring the right amount of charge is delivered. For instance, when only shallow discharges occur, the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging. Conversely, after a deep discharge, the absorption time is increased to ensure the battery is fully recharged.

Additionally, the charger includes a BatterySafe mode that automatically limits the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage is reached, preventing damage due to excessive gassing. The storage mode further enhances battery life by reducing the float voltage to minimize gassing and corrosion when the battery is not in use. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to equalize the battery, preventing stratification of the electrolyte and sulphation.
