Description
The Raymarine M81105 Rudder Reference Transducer is a mechanical position sensor that reports actual rudder angle to compatible Raymarine autopilot systems. A linkage connects the sensor arm to the steering quadrant or tiller mechanism so the autopilot can compare commanded steering with the rudder’s real position.
Main Features
- Direct rudder-angle feedback for compatible Raymarine autopilot systems.
- Useful with Evolution systems where a rudder reference is required or recommended for the vessel/drive configuration.
- Supports setup and calibration of rudder limits and steering response on compatible pilots.
- Mechanical linkage installation tracks the movement of the rudder stock, quadrant or steering arm.
- Also supported by selected legacy Raymarine instruments/autopilots through the appropriate interface.
Installation geometry is critical: the sensor and linkage must move freely through the complete steering range without binding or exceeding the transducer’s travel. On Evolution systems, rudder-reference calibration is performed through the pilot setup menu on a compatible chartplotter or p70-series controller.
