Description
The GARMIN GT15M-THF Stainless Steel 20° Tilt CHIRP Thru-Hull Transducer is a stainless steel medium-frequency CHIRP thru-hull transducer with a 20° tilted element. It operates across approximately 85–165 kHz and is intended to keep the sonar beam closer to vertical on hulls with the appropriate deadrise.
Main Features
- Stainless Steel thru-hull housing with 20° tilted element
- Medium-frequency CHIRP approximately 85–165 kHz
- 600 W sonar power rating
- Integrated depth and water-temperature sensing
- 15 m attached cable for permanent through-hull installation
Tilt selection
The 20° version is generally suited to hull deadrise around 16–24°.
Sonar performance
Garmin specifies a maximum depth in favorable conditions of about 1,900 ft freshwater / 1,200 ft saltwater. Real-world depth depends on water conditions, speed, installation quality and the connected sounder.
Hull compatibility
The stainless steel housing is intended for metal and fiberglass hulls with required isolation practices. Follow Garmin’s isolation and sealant instructions; mixing incompatible metals can create corrosion problems.
Installation
This is a permanent through-hull sensor. Confirm deadrise, internal clearance, hull construction and access for the retaining hardware before drilling the hull.
