Description
The GARMIN BlueNet 30 Gateway bridges compatible legacy Garmin Marine Network equipment with newer Garmin BlueNet systems. It is a migration component for mixed-generation installations rather than a general-purpose Ethernet switch.
Main Features
- Bridges compatible legacy Garmin Marine Network and BlueNet devices
- Supports staged upgrades to newer BlueNet chartplotter systems
- Purpose-built Garmin marine networking hardware
- Avoids replacing every compatible legacy network device at once
- Designed for documented Garmin network topologies
Mixed-generation systems
BlueNet uses a newer network architecture than the legacy Garmin Marine Network. The BlueNet 30 provides the supported transition point for compatible equipment when both generations must operate in one vessel system.
Not a universal adapter
Compatibility is device- and topology-specific. A physical Ethernet connector alone does not mean two devices can be joined safely; use Garmin’s network compatibility guidance.
Upgrade planning
The gateway is especially useful during refits where displays are upgraded before radar, sonar or other network devices.
Installation
Install with the proper Garmin cables and power/network arrangement and keep network connections protected from moisture and strain.
What’s in the Box
BlueNet 30 Gateway, required power/network accessories as supplied, mounting hardware and documentation.
