Description

The Element 7 S 7-inch Chartplotter with LightHouse Charts North America, No Transducer is a 7-inch keypad-controlled Raymarine chartplotter designed for boaters who want fast, straightforward navigation without the complexity of a large glass-bridge system. It uses the LightHouse Sport operating system, a quad-core processor and a fast 10 Hz GPS/GNSS receiver, and this North American SKU includes a preloaded LightHouse Charts card plus one year of LightHouse Charts Premium subscription eligibility. As an Element S model, it includes a single-channel high-CHIRP sonar for dependable depth and bottom information with a compatible CPT-S transducer. The transducer is sold separately.

Main Features

  • 7-inch 1500-nit sunlight-viewable display with physical keypad, oversized waypoint key and three user-programmable quick keys.
  • LightHouse Sport navigation with support for Raymarine LightHouse Charts, compatible Navionics and C-MAP cartography, routes, waypoints, tides and RealBathy personal depth mapping.
  • Built-in high-CHIRP sonar for reliable depth, bottom contour and conventional fishfinding with compatible CPT-S transducers.
  • 10 Hz integrated GPS/GNSS supporting GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou with SBAS support for accurate position updates.
  • SeaTalk NG/NMEA 2000 and Wi-Fi connectivity for compatible AIS, engines, tanks, instruments, VHF and autopilot navigation data.

Navigation and LightHouse Sport

Element is intentionally simpler than Axiom. LightHouse Sport keeps the chart, sonar and waypoint functions close to the surface, with live chart menus that let the operator see configuration changes immediately. The large waypoint key makes it fast to mark a fishing spot, hazard or anchorage, while the programmable keys can be assigned to frequently used pages. LightHouse Charts North America provides the chart base in this package, and Element can also use supported Navionics and C-MAP chart cards when a different cartography ecosystem is preferred.

Positioning and personal mapping

The internal GNSS receiver updates at 10 Hz and can track up to 28 satellites simultaneously. It supports GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou, plus regional SBAS augmentation systems including WAAS. When a compatible depth source is connected, RealBathy can create high-resolution personal bathymetric contour maps, which is useful for fishing structure, revisiting anchorages and improving local knowledge in areas where published soundings are sparse.

High-CHIRP depth and fishfinding

Element S is the cruising-oriented member of the Element family. Its built-in single-channel high-CHIRP sounder is intended for depth, bottom contour and conventional fish-target display with compatible CPT-S transducers. It does not provide the 1.2 MHz HyperVision, SideVision or RealVision 3D modes found on Element HV, which makes it a better fit when navigation, depth awareness and vessel data are more important than advanced structure imaging.

Transducer selection

A transducer is not included. Compatible CPT-S options include transom, in-hull and through-hull configurations, with plastic or bronze housings and tilted elements available for different hull materials and deadrise angles. Matching the sensor to the hull is important: the mounting style, housing material and element angle should be chosen for the actual vessel rather than treated as interchangeable accessories.

Networking, AIS, autopilot and radar

Element connects to SeaTalk NG/NMEA 2000 through the DeviceNet connection integrated with its power lead. It can display compatible AIS, engine, tank, wind, depth and other network data and can provide navigation information to a compatible autopilot. Unlike Axiom, Element does not have a RayNet Ethernet port for a full multi-display marine network. Compatible Quantum radar can be used wirelessly over Wi-Fi, which is useful on a smaller helm where radar is desired without building a larger Ethernet system.

Display, power and installation

The 7-inch display uses a TN panel with 800 × 480 resolution and up to 1500 nits of brightness. Raymarine lists the display-only weight at 1.0 kg. Approximate power consumption is 15 W at 12 V DC. The trunnion-mounted dimensions are 263.85 × 162.59 × 149.40 mm; surface-mount dimensions are 239.60 × 135.10 × 149.40 mm. The operating range is 8–16 V DC, with protection to 32 V DC, and the enclosure is rated IPX6/IPX7 for marine use.
