Description
SIERRA MerCarb 2-Barrel Carburetor Rebuild Kit – 18-7098-1 is a rebuild kit for the newer-style MerCarb 2-barrel carburetor used on many MerCruiser engines. Sierra specifically identifies compatibility with 1986-and-newer MCM 4-cylinder, V6 and V8 305/350 CID engines where the carburetor has the current side-fill accelerator-pump cavity.
The accelerator-pump cavity style is a critical identification point. Confirm that the carburetor uses the side-fill design and compare the OEM kit number before ordering, because earlier MerCarb versions can require a different rebuild kit.
