This clear replacement cylinder restores visibility and sealing surfaces on a compatible PERKO Figure 0493 intake water strainer when the original bowl is cracked, crazed, clouded or damaged.

Product Details

• Direct replacement for the transparent cylinder on Figure 0493 Size #8 strainers with 1-1/2 in. NPT connections.
• Clear polycarbonate construction allows inspection of water flow, debris loading and basket condition.
• Published cylinder size is 15.2 cm OD x 20.3 cm high (6 x 8 in.).
• Reuses the existing bronze castings, basket, tie rods and cover hardware when those components remain serviceable.
• Install with the correct 0493DP999M or 0493DP999R gasket kit and select the same gasket material originally used by the strainer.
• Clean the gasket grooves and inspect the bronze sealing surfaces before assembly; do not use a cracked or distorted cylinder.
• Tighten tie rods evenly to compress the seals without distorting the clear cylinder, then pressure-test for leaks.
