Description
OCEAN SIGNAL rescueME EPIRB3 Category 2 Manual-Release EPIRB with AIS, RLS & NFC – 702S-03932
The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB3 is a Category 2 Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon supplied with a quick-release manual mounting bracket. Designed for recreational and commercial vessels, it combines global 406 MHz satellite distress alerting with an AIS locating signal that helps nearby vessels and rescue crews quickly identify the beacon’s position.
- 406 MHz distress transmission alerts the global Cospas-Sarsat search-and-rescue satellite network
- Integrated AIS transmitter broadcasts the beacon’s position to nearby AIS-equipped vessels and rescue craft
- Return Link Service provides visual confirmation that the distress alert has been received by the satellite system
- GPS, Galileo and GLONASS positioning provides accurate location information to assist rescuers
- Category 2 quick-release bracket allows the beacon to be manually removed and deployed during an emergency
- Water activation automatically starts the beacon after it has been removed from its bracket and placed in the sea
- 121.5 MHz homing signal assists search-and-rescue crews during final approach
- High-intensity visible and infrared strobe lights improve detection during daytime and nighttime rescue operations
- NFC connectivity allows battery status, self-test history and GNSS test information to be reviewed through the Ocean Signal mobile app
- More than 48 hours of operating life at -20°C
- Non-rechargeable lithium battery with a 10-year replacement interval
When activated, the EPIRB3 transmits the vessel’s emergency identification and GNSS position through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. At the same time, its AIS signal broadcasts the current beacon position locally, helping nearby vessels participate in the rescue and allowing responding crews to locate the casualty more quickly.
Unlike the Category 1 EPIRB3 Pro, this Category 2 model does not include a hydrostatic float-free housing. The beacon must be manually removed from its quick-release bracket before deployment.
