Description
The OCEAN SIGNAL rescueME PLB3 is an advanced personal locator beacon that combines global 406 MHz Cospas-Sarsat alerting with local AIS man-overboard signaling. It adds Return Link Service (RLS), NFC smartphone connectivity, multi-GNSS positioning, 121.5 MHz homing, visible and infrared strobes, and lifejacket integration in one compact beacon.
- 406 MHz global alerting: Sends the registered distress alert and GNSS position through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite rescue network.
- Integrated AIS alert: Broadcasts position to compatible AIS-equipped vessels nearby for faster local recovery.
- Return Link Service: RLS provides a visual confirmation that the distress message has been received through the supported return-link system.
- NFC mobile status: Allows a compatible phone to read programmed beacon information and recent self-test results without drawing power from the beacon.
- Lifejacket-ready design: Can be installed in a compatible inflatable lifejacket for semi-automatic activation, or carried using suitable mounting accessories.
The PLB3 pairs global and local rescue technologies: satellite alerting reaches rescue coordination services, while AIS immediately makes the casualty a target to nearby compatible vessels. No subscription is required for Cospas-Sarsat use.
