The VHF 215 Marine Radio is a fixed-mount 25 W marine VHF radio with Class D DSC for routine and emergency communications. AIS is not integrated in this model. It is designed to integrate with compatible Garmin and NMEA 2000 marine electronics.

VHF communications
A fixed 25 W VHF remains a primary line-of-sight communications tool for marinas, vessel-to-vessel calls, weather channels and emergency traffic. Range depends strongly on antenna height and installation quality.
DSC safety functions
When programmed with the vessel MMSI and supplied with valid position data, Class D DSC can send digital distress information and support direct calls to other DSC-equipped vessels.
System integration
NMEA 2000 can exchange supported position, DSC and AIS information with compatible Garmin chartplotters and marine equipment.
Installation
A suitable marine VHF antenna, coaxial cable, electrical supply and MMSI programming are required. Follow local licensing and operating requirements.
