Description
The GARMIN BlueNet 20 is a marine Ethernet network switch that expands the number of available Garmin BlueNet ports in a modern high-bandwidth Garmin system. It is intended for installations with multiple compatible chartplotters, radar, sonar and other BlueNet devices.
Main Features
- Dedicated Garmin BlueNet marine network switch
- Expands available high-speed BlueNet connections
- Supports modern Garmin gigabit marine-network architecture
- Marine installation format for centralized equipment spaces
- Includes a 2 m BlueNet cable for system connection
Why a network switch is needed
Larger Garmin helms can quickly use the network ports available on individual displays. BlueNet 20 provides a central connection point so compatible high-bandwidth equipment can communicate without improvised Ethernet hardware.
BlueNet architecture
Garmin BlueNet is the company’s newer high-speed marine networking platform. Legacy Garmin Marine Network devices may require the appropriate BlueNet gateway or adapter rather than connecting directly.
Installation
Mount the switch in a dry, serviceable location within Garmin’s environmental limits and route network cables to avoid sharp bends, abrasion and water entry.
System planning
Count required ports before installation and allow capacity for future radar, sonar or display additions. Network topology and legacy-device bridging should follow Garmin’s BlueNet guidance.
What’s in the Box
