Description
The Raymarine P79 (E66008) is an adjustable in-hull depth transducer designed for boat owners who want traditional 50/200 kHz fishfinder performance without drilling a transducer hole through the hull. The active element sits in a liquid-filled mounting tank bonded inside a solid fiberglass hull and is rotated to compensate for deadrise so the beam points vertically downward.
Main Features
- In-hull installation eliminates external drag and hull protrusion.
- 600 W dual-frequency 50/200 kHz operation for compatible traditional sonar systems.
- Adjustable 2°–22° deadrise compensation keeps the acoustic beam aimed downward.
- 8-pin DSM-style connector connects directly to CP370 and compatible legacy Raymarine sonar modules.
- No water-temperature sensor because the transducer does not contact the water directly.
The P79 is intended primarily for solid fiberglass hulls; cored hull locations must be prepared correctly and should not be treated as a simple shoot-through installation. Its lack of an external housing makes it appealing for fast boats, trailered boats and installations where drag or impact exposure is a concern.
