ULTRA SAFETY SYSTEMS Tef-Gel Corrosion Eliminator & Anti-Seize is a waterproof PTFE-based corrosion inhibitor and anti-seize compound designed to protect marine hardware, electrical connections and dissimilar-metal assemblies from galvanic corrosion, galling and seizing. It is particularly useful anywhere stainless-steel fasteners are installed into aluminum, one of the most common corrosion-prone combinations found on boats, outboards, sailboat spars, marine electronics installations and deck hardware.
Tef-Gel helps prevent saltwater and other electrolytes from entering the interface between mating surfaces. Its formulation contains approximately 40% PTFE powder and no volatile solvents, allowing the protective compound to remain in place rather than relying on a carrier that evaporates after installation. The PTFE-rich paste also provides excellent lubricity, helping reduce galling and making threaded hardware easier to remove during future maintenance.

How to Use Tef-Gel
Apply a thin, continuous coating of Tef-Gel to mating surfaces before assembly. For screws, bolts and other threaded hardware, coat the engaged threads and, where practical, the internal threads of the tapped hole. Complete coverage is more important than applying a large amount of product.
When installing hardware against aluminum or another dissimilar metal, apply a thin film between the contact surfaces to help exclude saltwater and other electrolytes. Assemble the components normally and wipe away excess material after tightening.
Because Tef-Gel lubricates threaded hardware, tightening torque may need to be adjusted when a manufacturer’s specified torque value assumes clean, dry threads.
